Bleached
moorland
bleached
by winter sun
the bones
of last year's grasses
Some early morning light on the moor gave us a bright start before the wind and rain took over. Lying mid-way between east and west coasts, we've been spared the worst of the recent storms though.
My GP's given me the all clear to return to work on Monday, which after an absence of three months will be a relief to everyone, particularly those whose feet I've been getting under at home, and those who've been picking up my duties at work.
And later, I stood quietly in the corner at my only party of the season, while people complained about teachers who were off sick with stress, because of course it isn't a real illness.
