Culture Vulture weekend pt I (RSC: Richard II)
A not- very- scintillating photo: the intermission during the first international screening of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Richard II.
Was most bemused by some women sitting behind me, giggling about the way David Tennant's *cough*... attributes ... were at times inadvertently emphasised owing to his costume and the stage lighting.
Not to be critical of Tennant - because he really is a mesmerising and beautifully fluid Shakespearean actor- but I do think that had he known the effect his nightgown would have on the audience, he might have been prudent to shove a sock down his drawers to embellish matters a little.
