Lemon tree (status report no. 1)

During the holidays I finally had some time to treat my lemon tree. It had begun to attract mysterious parasites — called scales — that left a sticky residue on the leaves and branches. Leaves had started to fall off; death appeared imminent. Here's hoping it'll make a strong comeback in 2014.
