Bunty Fraser's Teeth Melting Tablet

I packed my big deep saucepan, long wooden spoon and condensed milk and headed over to my friend's house to cook tablet for her sweet-toothed boys.

My mum provided the recipe. "Do you have a recipe for tablet, mum? "Oh hell, yes, Bunty Fraser's." And so into my mind popped a woman who I haven't thought about for nearly 30 years. She worked alongside my Dad as a cook and she was famous for her tablet. A well deserved reputation, too: her recipe was easy to follow and incredibly effective. I love that people can live on through their recipes. Here's to you, Bunty.
