Wrapped Up In Books

The holidays are drawing to a close. Spokes returned to work in her bookshop today and I'll be back in the office on Monday.

But what a great fortnight it's been! We've mostly been holed up like hermits - resting, recharging and reading. Eating a lot of roast vegetables and chocolate and watching a film or two along the way too.

We've both recently read 'MaddAddam', the concluding part of Margaret Atwood's utterly gripping Oryx and Crake trilogy and are still discussing it on a daily basis. Do read all three books ('Oryx and Crake', 'The Year of the Flood' and 'MaddAddam') if you haven't. I can't recommend them highly enough! We've also been reading some of our old favourite books - from childhood and adulthood - aloud to each other which has been huge fun and I hope we'll find time to continue once we're both back on the work treadmill. There are so many books still to be read!

I'm also thoroughly enjoying my current book club selection, 'The Universe versus Alex Woods' by Gavin Extence. Another definite recommendation to book-loving blippers!

Here's a suitably bookish song and my wishes for a very happy 2014 to you all.
