Cuck-koo
There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall ...
I've only just heard that Downton Abbey - Season 4 will begin airing in North America this Sunday at 9pm Eastern Time, which is 6pm My Time, which doesn't leave Much Time to recap the previous Three Seasons, which I must, if I'm to remember who's who and what's what and how the Last Bit ended. It's a year since we last Caught Up with them.
I've been hard at it all evening watching DVDs. I fast forwarded through the killy bits, which saved a bit of time.
I bought my DVDs last year for a song from the local video store out of the pre-watched bin, once the rage had died down. They're in fairly good nick, although just as the Turkish gentleman is about to ravish Mary the disc seizes, garbles and then skitters about til it freezes on the opening frame of the following chapter! It appears my disc's not only pre-watched, but has also been seriously abused at that particular spot.
Anyway, that's my Dad's clock. It belonged to his Mum. It's got a serious gong on it that used to go off every half hour. And the TICKING!!?? Some evenings my Mum used to say "Oh Rob, please don't wind the clock". It never used to wake me up in the night, but if I happened to be awake I didn't mind hearing it go off. Aside from it's own gong, it's sat on top of a very old upright piano, which heartily adds to the overall reverberation. You'd be forgiven in these parts if you thought it was an earthquake.
The clock's been failing lately. It has three keys and three key holes. I'm confused and I should have paid attention years ago.
