Casting a Wide Net
On our morning walk with the dogs along the Rio Tomebamba, I watched some of the local men take advantage of the slower waters of a dry spell in a wet season. Their large nets circled and dipped into the river water catching trout, tossing their best catches to women on the river banks, filling buckets for meals to come. It appeared to be a good day for fishing!
