Northern Flicker

I love these birds...so happy when one flies in for the suet. They are often accompanied by a flock of starlings which are not our favorite, but often the good comes with the bad!

This morning we had more uncommon visitors to the pond....a pair of beautiful Ring-necked ducks, and a lone hooded merganser! It's always fun to look out and spot new ducks visiting!
