Foreverly
I woke up to the news that Phil Everly had passed on the day before. This was big news for me as an Everlys devotee for as long as I can remember. The pair had a huge influence on music, inspiring Buddy Holly, the Beatles (John & Paul were called the Foreverlys at one time), Elvis, Dylan, Emmylou, Sandy Denny... you name it. Norah Jones has just released an entire recreation of one of their albums with the singer from Green Day, emulating the Everlys' perfect harmonies, and called it Foreverly.
This is the Everly Brothers section of my CD collection. Bye, bye Phil.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Everly Brothers with Chet Atkins, Mark Knopfler & Michael McDonald - Why Worry? (1986)
This song from the Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms album always sounded tailor-made for the Everlys, and they recorded it on their 1985 album, Born Yesterday, having reformed the year before after an acrimonious ten years split. On this live version, their mentor Chet Atkins is playing guitar alongside the song's composer, Mark Knopfler.
