The fabulous Short Eared Owl

After a little absence from Blipping - I thought I'd share this photo of a Short Eared Owl - taken on the high tide at Parkgate on the Wirral. The tide exposes all of the voles, mice and shrews in the Marshes and the Owls come in to hunt (8 of them today).
