Move over Bridget........

Move over Nigella......a new fish pie chef in town

After leaving Sandra's, I travelled back to see Liz (Oxford Liz as opposed to Nurse Liz....although Oxford Liz doesn't live in Oxford and Nurse Liz isn't technically a Nurse anymore....) for a catch up and a fish pie lesson from her lovely boyfriend.

After my 'cruel dumping' back in the summer, I found it worked to my advantage in the sympathy stakes when Liz's b/f, concerned with my being unemployed with no one to look after me, made me a hundred weight of fish pies to tide me over. I used them whenever anyone came for dinner as his cooking is far better than mine but now I've run out and I am employed so I can afford to cook my own. Hence the poor guy ended up forced into cooking for us both so I could take notes - what a guy!

The weather has been hideous for days now so I was stunned to see a live butterfly. It was in Liz's cottage and to let it out would have been instant death so we put some sugar water down for it. I thought it was a painted lady maybe...or a red admiral....but it doesn't match any of the pictures I've seen.

**it's a tortoiseshell :-)

profound thought for the day - "Chiquitita, you and I cry, but the sun is still in the sky and shining above you".....not overly profound, but as I was singing along to it a few months ago the song rounded up the sentiments my lovely friends had supported me with.
