100 Strangers #2: Joyce

My second entry for the 100 Strangers challenge, and the first on home turf. And the first time I got to give out one of my 'I'm a photographer you know' calling cards :-)

This is Joyce, who we saw up near Pickering Castle today. Joyce and her husband had four border terriers with them, three of their own and one rescue dog (called Rust, I think? or maybe Rusty) that they'd only had a week. Turns out they take in rescue dogs and retrain them before rehoming them, specialising in border terriers. She was very cheery and happy to chat for a few minutes and have her photo taken.

What I've learned with this portrait: sort out the background! I should have moved around to get a plainer background instead of the bits of parked cars.
