That's how the house is looking, after we've spent a good part of the day taking down the Christmas decorations. The Christmas tree paused halfway down the garden on its final journey to pose for one parting shot.

Yesterday's wish for a Cup draw against a Premiership side has been granted: away to Southampton, which is just about perfect - a smart new(ish) stadium, probably the closest Premiership ground to ours, the team that my friend and walking partner, Roger, supports and no expectation that we'll win. A trip to look forward to.
