Blown Away

A hairdryer: not usually part of your usual everyday camera kit but standing outside in the blustery wind it seemed like a brilliant idea. Had anyone been peeping over the garden fence this morning they would probably have looked twice as I was giving this thistle-head a quick blast of hot air to get rid of the water, in order to give it some colour and texture. AND before anyone sniggers....it worked :))

We've spent the afternoon taking down all the Christmas decorations in front of a roaring wood-burner so quite a pleasant way to spend a day when the weather is so very foul. Something has gone a bit wrong with the packing up though as strangely we seem to be a box short.

A very quick post here as our power is going off at regular intervals. Hubs saw 10' sparks coming from the pole outside last night! A tad worrying!!
