Billy Goat

Over the top?

This is a new bridge in our village, built to replace the ford that caused floods to many of the local houses.
Carriageway width is 6metres.
Load capacity is 48 tonnes.
Barrier is urban protection level (30mph impact).

Only trouble is the lane beyond it is a 3metres wide gravel track less than 100metres long accessing three houses with a dog-leg and a power pole preventing anything longer (or heavier) than a small van or lorry from driving up it.

The cost of the flood prevention work exceeds £3 million and comprises two bridges and a river wall.
Means this bridge cost about a million.

Totally over the top.
