Blechnum fern

Twelfth night, and the Christmas tree went outside this morning. We have a small, live spruce tree which should keep in its same pot until next year.

I've just been looking through the window to see whether the sunset is likely to warrant a trip down the garden in this howling nor-easter. Fortunately, we get the best sunsets in balmy nor'west conditions, so not today.

This shot is of a couple of fronds of a Blechnum fern taken in the fern house in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. I had a lovely trip to the gardens with pcc and T. As I only used the tripod for the fern shots, my selection is a bit limited.
