Triple Exposure
Today was so much fun...
I had a pretty lazy morning - I didn't get up until 10:30 - and I was actually still in my PJs when Julia arrived this afternoon for our photo shoot. In my defence she was early! Anyway, we sorted out an outfit and I pinned flowers all over her and we went down to the river to take some photos. This time we went across the bridge because I wanted both grassy areas and bushland. I was attempting to use my new camera to do double exposures - because you don't have to wind the film on each time before you release the shutter, this particular camera is apparently really awesome for double exposures. Unlike the last shoot I actually planned out more than half of the shots with thing I thought would look cool in double exposure. It was really fun to do and I enjoyed doing something totally different and outside of my comfort zone.
After the shoot we went to a new cafe near me for some afternoon tea and spent a very enjoyable few hours drinking tea and lattes and eating brownies and croissants. The cafe is attached to a furniture shop so we had a wander through after tea - we picked out lots of things for our future homes (when we're millionaires...).
When I picked the photos up I was actually nervous to see how they'd come out - I was working with a new film format (120) using a new technique so I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd all been awful. But! I actually like almost all of them, and my only issue is that they are all completely out of focus. For some of them, this adds to the creepy spooky effect; for others, it just makes them look out of focus. I picked the right place to take the photos because I got exactly what I wanted - gloomy, creepy bushland with Julia emerging out of the trees in two or three shadowy forms. Overall I'm really pleased with the photos, and I'm keen to try the effect again!
