Sandstone Mounting Block

This worn and weathered horse mounting block sits outside St Laurence Church up on the hill in Meriden. It probably dates back to the 19th century when gentlemen farmers would ride to church on horseback. Someone has left a floral tribute on them although I have no idea why.
