In Which a Resolution Is Broken

Ahem! Did somebody make a New Year's resolution to be a kinder and gentler Tabby this year? To be nicer to the duckies and the crittergators and the spiders and all other living (and maybe even the not so living) creatures?

On this day, I am sad to report, that resolution was simply dashed to shreds. Two duckies were sitting there, minding their own business. When - WHAP! Out flashed a clean white paw! And suddenly, two duckies went flying into the water in the sink! Which is not to say that they were harmed. Oh no, goodness gracious, no. They, being duckies after all; it being water. They took to it like . . . er . . . like ducks to water, shall we say.

No, it was the THOUGHT that counted. It was the thought that hurt. That the promise should be broken so quickly and so thoughtlessly. Hmmph! So much for a kinder and gentler Tabby in the new year!

Little duckies, take heart. I know this: He never meant to be so bad to you, one thing he said that he would never do. Let's just blame that impulse on the heat of the moment . . .
