Faranamanagh breaker

We visited the normally idyllic Faranamanagh Lake but a shocking scene greeted us. The ridge separating the lake from the sea has been shifted back several meters and almost breached in places. The lake itself has flotsam piled up against the farthest shore and is bursting its banks. Huge stones have been tossed way up the access road. A pair of swans was battling against the wind by the shore.

More high winds and tides are forecast tonight so it's not over yet!

This is beyond the lake where the path, now strewn wiith debris, leads over the headland. Herself's blip show how incredibly intrepid I was to bring you this image ;)
