This
is the proper use of the BFBS Round Thing, which really caught the listeners' imagination after being thus christened by Adrian Love. A bottle opener with a cunning rubber seal to keep the beer fresh when the capacity of the bottle exceeds either that of the glass or, less often, the desire of the drinker.
I am proud to have introduced this object into the pantheon of promotional goodies some time in the mid eighties.
There was some talk of a BFBS condom. Two sizes: the regular, belogoed with the legend 'BFBS', and 'the DJ', which would read 'The British Forces Broadcasting Service, the Radio Division of the Services Sound and Vision Corporation, twenty-four hours a day - in stereo'. Our idea came to nothing.
Churchill had got there first with his airdropped objects, almost a foot long, and lablled 'British Army: small' to be scattered behind enemy lines.
