The Life & Times of Loops

Quilled Egg

Something happened when I turned 40, I developed an urge to make things. Odd I know.

One craft which attracted my interest was quilling.

Quilling, or paper filigree, is an art form that involves using paper strips to create decorative designs. This is achieved by rolling, shaping, and glueing the strips together.

This is one of the first pieces which I attempted. I bought a papier maché egg from a craft store and, having painted it gold, stuck the quilled shapes to the surface.

The internal coils may not be uniform, the goal
of the quiller, but overall I was happy with the outcome.
