mirror mirror on the wall...

This isn't a mirror, obviously, but a piece of sculpture done by a patient in one of our secure units. I thought it was rather stunning hung as it has been by the therapist with a bulb behind it.
But there is something about the photograph now I have looked at it and cropped it that made me think of the original Snow White film and the face in the mirror that talks to the wicked Queen. There is such a darkness to many childrens fairy tales, with good and evil all in one story. The only thing that makes them childlike is that it is usually very clear which is which.

Today was my first day back at work after Christmas and a time for the team to regather and map the priorities and deadlines etc . Going to be an eventful and challenging year. I know that blipping every day is going to get very difficult in the weeks and months ahead. I think I will do my best to get to 100 consecutive pics then probably relax into what I always thought I would manage which is weekends and then anything good or special I bump into during the week. But its pretty hard with dark mornings, evenings and working in a hospital setting and I want this to remain a pleasure and not a pressure.
We'll see. I will continue looking at all your amazing and inspirational photos whatever...so much better than the telly!
