Eagle Rock Memorial

The statue of a large eagle standing on a rock is probably the oldest sculpture in Tampere.

It was mounted in memory of the visit of Russia's emperor Alexander I who at the time was also the Grand Duke of Finland.

The statue is from the early 19th century and the bird's wing span is over 4 metres.
