Cranberry festival
Today was the Nantucket Conservation Foundation's Cranberry Festival. Featuring such things as fresh, organic cranberries, cranberry honey, rugs and little sheep dolls made from wool from our flock of sheep, a plant sale by the Science and Stewardship department, live music, a sheep shearing demonstration, and a hay ride.
I was working on collecting the money for parking. My conservative estimate is that we had more than 1000 cars over the course of the day and probably had more than 4000 visitors.
This is a berry bouncer. It's exactly what it sounds like. The good berries bounce a bit and the bad ones stay down, so this sorts them out. It was built in the 1910s and is still used daily.
Backblipped for yesterday, check out the fuzzy caterpillar.
