Waiting for the train

I've come to meet the train and here I am standing in front of the station looking along the track in the direction the train will come from. My friend who is on it has been to Queensland and the events she experienced while she was there include life changing. As if travel itself is not sufficient to change our lives.

She expects me and is happy I am there.

The day itself is perfect, balmy, not too windy so I unusually make the suggestion and despatched head off to the pub to buy a couple of stubbies of beer while she sits dressing blistered feet with band-aids under a tree where the grass is green.

When I get back to our camp in Soldiers' Memorial Park (and settle myself down on a patch of cool green grass), we drink our ice cold beer and reminisce about our experiences over recent weeks.
