Just rub it in!

When I was a small boy, many years ago, why didn't someone warn me about following sports teams?

I have become inured to the fact that my Football team will never regain the upper echelons, but still each Saturday the hurt increases.

I grew up supporting two rugby league teams and now I am told I can only have one.

Then, after a lifetime of supporting English Cricket, they finally came to something, Number one in the world and triple Ashes victors.

You can imagine how I felt this Christmas as the Ashes crumbled in our hands. Lost with a whimper! The Citadel thrown down and all it's lofty pinnacles bare!!

I console myself with a walk along the canal to find this.

All is lost. Woe! Woe! and thrice Woe!
