Botanics.
Went to the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens today and it was very busy. The new West Gate opened for business last week and people were getting a first look at it.
There are some interesting shapes and designs in the structure. Particularly nice is a set of wooden steps which face the sun on the south side and which folk can sit on. Also there is an impressive wall of Caithness Slate on the north side which must have cost a few bob.
The whole place had a fifties feel to it - a bit like the old Turnhouse Airport with lots of timber and spiral stairs about.
