Bell Wood Bridge

Alexander crossing this fine and much anticipated new bridge over the Tarland burn, which was put in place just before christmas. It is now part of the Deeside Way, connecting Aboyne Square to the Bike Park (in Bell Wood) via the lower road, without having to head through the adjacent housing estate. The recent storms have felled several hundreds of trees in the wood, so tricky to find our way to the jumps past all the carnage. They were all Scots pines, the same model which came crashing through our house roof at the start of December. They seem to have a design flaw, being evergreen and top heavy, as well as shallow rooted.
