Bouzigues boats

We had lunch at this village which is completely devoted to the production of shellfish, so we ate delicious oysters, mussels and clams, followed by a late-afternoon swim at Marseillan-plage. The sea was a bit cooler than last week, but still warm enough to swim. The perfect family Sunday!

These boats are used for going out to the mussel and oyster beds in the Bassin de Thau, a sea-water lagoon. I blipped these beds on a much gloomier day than today, even though it was in July - here. Strangely, the boat in the background is named 'Penible' which means diffucult or painful!
