One of the best things in our new office it is "neighborhood". It is so great to have very good friend next door. :) So he can just stop for afternoon tea. Today we got an amazing talk about Orfeo ed Euridice; an opera composed by Gluck; what immediately led us to talk about Greek myths and their impact on our world vision. I really love this guy, as it is so easy to discuss with him spectroscopic properties of Eu3+ ions in different crystal structures (don't ask; I also have no idea ;)) or the myth about Achilles in aspect of gender studies.

After all, I believe that legends and myths are largely made of 'truth', and indeed present aspects of it that can only be received in this mode; and long ago certain truths and modes of this kind were discovered and must always reappear. - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien
