King tide
Winter is the time for very high tides known as "king" tides. This morning we went down to the marina in Olympia, WA to see a 16.5 foot king tide. Normally this vintage tugboat sits much lower, but here it is almost level with the top of the bank. If the tide is this high now at certain times of year, it will only get higher as climate change melts the ice sheets and the sea level rises. Something to make you stop and think.
