Life in the shadows

Danny and I took the dogs for a late walk tonight. On the way back we noticed the shadow of the tree on the garage wall and so we entertained ourselves for a few minutes making our own shadows. It reminded me of the stories we made up with the aid of a light and shadows when the the kids were wee and were sleeping in bunk beds. Our repertoire included, birds, rabbits, crabs, dog, ostrich, spider, shark and trees. We would all squeeze into the bottom bunk and the boys would take turns to hold the torch and make shadows. We even painted a rainbow on the wall to help the story telling. Those were the days....now they make much bigger shadows and storytelling is a whole different thing,
