Keeping Warm

These two have been housemates for 9 years. The black one was a shelter adoptee, a gift to my son on his 12th birthday. The multi was a gift to my daughter from my sister. She was a feral kitten, found and given to us when we came home from saying good-bye to the warrior man of the house on his first deployment. Nine years ago this week. They often snuggle up together on top of the water heater in the basement. Today, I found them on a pink fleece in the living room.
