Oy

"Oyster of great price" (2009), ink and watercolor on illustration board.

Funny is today's DDW challenge.

I wrote more than 2,500 words today, so my brain is mush. I take no responsibility for the contents of this blip.

Thank you for your comments on my funny dog capture yesterday, which as some of you pointed out would have made a good entry for today's challenge. But according to Blipfoto rules, The moving finger writes and having writ moves on. So I move on.

Making art is often, for me, a source of amusement. I start by scribbling with no image in mind, akin to the Dadaists, and then as some association emerges I bring it forth. This drawing began to look like an oyster, so I put a pearl in it and gave it a funny name. (Funny to me, at least.)

Haiku: Shucks

Oyster of great price
ought to have a pearl in it!
else would not be nice.
