Tea Farms
I had the privilege of playing golf with a good friend yesterday. The golf club is located in the highlands outside of Nairobi where tea is grown. Rolling hills, blue skies and acres upon acres of green tea thriving in the cool climate. I wished to have been able to better capture the feel of this place but I am left with shots of the other side of this life: staff quarters of those who hand-pick the leaves.
I still find it quite interesting that tea is picked by hand (is the the top three or five new leaves just budding out of the bushes which are used to make our delicious tea). So you can find numerous yellow, plastic vests worn by the tea pickers which prevent the dew or rain from completely soaking them.
