The Dean
Irene and I were at 'Modern Two' today for the first of a series of Art classes to 'Paint like Fergusson'.
The class was great even although it involved sitting with sketching boards on our knees in the middle of the gallery trying to create our version of the great man's work. Prompting quite a few glances from the other visitors to the exhibition.
Coincidentally.................
I mentioned earlier this week that I'd just finished reading 'The Lewis man' part of which is set in Edinburgh, and in particular this building.
Before it became an Art gallery it was the Dean Orphanage and the book evokes the time when young children lived there under quite strict conditions. So it was interesting seeing it today with fresh eyes and trying to imagine how it used to be.
