Winter Moon
When I was a little girl I had a 1960's Ladybird edition of Cinderella where she had three different gowns for each night's ball. From memory, she started off in pink, then blue/silver and then gold. I could be wrong. It doesn't really matter...
I loved the silver dress. I loved it with a passion. I read that book so many times I think it did fall apart, despite its many Sellotapings.
Whenever I see the moon in winter in a clear blue sky it reminds me of that dress. And of the smell of my book. And of hours sitting reading and daydreaming. And of pets called Fred.
And right now I do feel a bit like Cinderella must have felt when she went back to the ball on that second night.
