Stromboli

This was taken much earlier this year on a visit to Stromboli, one of the Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the north coast of Sicily, which contains one of the three active volcanoes in Italy. First born beautiful boy was living in Catania, Sicily at the time I went to visit and we spent five nights on Stromboli and completed a night climb to watch lava erupting from the live volcano. Very exciting! On the island I photographed a series of doors, which I've subsequently had printed, and this one is definitely my favourite. Work is all-consuming at the moment and I'm really struggling to get shots taken during the day - that's my excuse for back blip, anyway.
