Respite

After what seems like months of unremitting low cloud gloom we were treated in the morning to a brief glimpse of blue sky to lighten the spirits a little.

The wind dropped overnight and the sea was calm for the first time in weeks. Sadly the cloud soon rolled back but it remained dry and I was able to replace some roofing felt which had been ripped off the Summerhouse during the gales.

Whilst working round the back of the summerhouse I discovered some pots which had been planted with daffodil bulbs in which the shoots were already starting to show. There is also one solitary rose which has decided to flower. However by the evening the rain had returned. Are we now going to get the extreme cold now being suffered in America?
