The School Run in a Flood

Tom's feet are too big for the wellies so he chose stylish Sainsburys bags to try and keep his feet dry. Josh squeezed into wellies and I waded across the shortest, shallowest crossing point, but the water is now almost at the top of my wellies. Been wondering how to make stepping stones…..

Tom didn't quite make it the whole way so I had to run over and pull his bike through.

Moments earlier a taxi had come down through the flood water very fast sending water flying all over the passers-by and bow waves into houses along this road. His engine then got flooded and he ground to a halt.

There was very little willingness from the group of men outside the shop to help him out - after all he'd just sent a wave of water into one of their houses… in fact you could say a robust discussion ensued, one man photographed his licence plate and sent to the local papers and police. What a selfish twit. He's going to be stuck here for sometime in the midst of a bunch of people really not very happy with him.

Please don't let it rain today. Water levels should peak tomorrow.
