"Squiggly" Bridge, Glasgow.

Having commented on so many wonderful shots on the Forth Bridges - here is my very first Clyde "Bridge Blip"!

The new Broomielaw- Tradeston Footbridge. The locals have nicknamed it The Squiggly, due to its unusual "S" wave-like shape. It complements the name of the other new bridge further down river "The Squinty".

There is a wee local craze called "Doing the Squiggly", when folk climb up the central section.

The £7 million structure was opened on 14 May 2009, devised by Halcrow civil engineers in partnership with Scandinavian architects Dissing and Weitling. It is part of the £33 million regeneration of the Clyde Waterfront.
