The National Wallace Monument, Stirling
A bright, nearly cloudless, start to the day saw me in Stirling for a meeting. Knowing that I had various other things to do later in the day, I grabbed the opportunity of taking this photo of the Wallace Monument (and a few others while I was at it) so I had something 'in the can' to post on my blipfoto journal.
This iconic monument on Abbey Craig commemorates Sir William Wallace, the Scottish patriot who was one of the leaders of the late 13th / early 14th century Wars of Independence.
