Nothing happens here...

One lump or two...

The coal yard diorama is almost complete. I say 'almost' because I'll be twiddling and tweaking for a few days yet. Can't help myself; I'm never satisfied. The Bedford I Blipped the other day is now part of the background and today the Austin is the star. Both are typical for Port Appin in the 1960's. Coal would have been left here in a BR railway truck and the coal merchant would have loaded it into a coal cell in his yard. Small orders would be bagged to go onto a lorry and then delivered to houses around the area.

Perhaps some bulk coal in the Bedford would go onto a ferry for nearby islands like Mull, Kerrera or Lismore. Some of the outlying islands, Barra, Colonsay, Islay would get their coal in bulk from a coastal Puffer delivery.
