Pleasing To The Eye

Someone gave me a calendar today which is a little bit weird as I've been searching for one since before Christmas. I hated the one I had last year (both the images and the stupid quotes which featured each month) and I vowed that if I couldn't find one that I liked enough this year, I simply wouldn't bother. I gave up my quest a couple of days ago and ended up taking home one which I had found in the office. It was a simple (dull and boring) but practical and didn't irritate so I figured it would do. However, today, a colleague popped his head round my door and handed me a calendar which was, apparently, surplus to requirements. It's for an extremely worthwhile charity called Aseema and it features the most beautiful paintings inspired by the Gondi tribe in central India and which were painted by some young students. Apparently, the Gondis believe that "viewing a good image begets good luck" and, you know what, I kinda believe in that philosphy too. For me, there's a moral in today's image and story - remind me to tell you about it one day.................... ;) Needless to say I'm loving my little calendar and looking forward to each and every coming month!
