A well known fact.
I don't like banks.
Or insurance companies for that matter and if we could do without either, the world would be a better place for that.
Here's one reason why. If my bank write to me to tell me that I have overdrawn on my account, or indeed - whether it is my fault or not - a cheque has not been paid, they give me the great honour of being charged between £25-£30!
If I dare ask - and we are never supposed to question these great and auspicious people - why such a charge has been levied, I am told it is an admin cost.
So, using my powers of deduction, a letter from the bank costs at least £25 to send.
Why then did I receive today, no less than four separate letters informing me of exactly the same point. In fact it was the same letter, in every detail. - "Since I have informed them that I no longer wish to receive paper statements, I have not checked my account on line."
And it's cost at least £100 to send those letters out!
Do me a favour Mr Lloyd. Stop sending me stupid letters and charge me less for my account.
PS. I happen to check my account, and pay bills from it on line, and transfer money across from one account to another at least once a week! So they have even got that wrong!
Rant over. For now.
