Cattle grid

We went for a brisk walk on Farthing Downs today, taking time out to enjoy the sunshine, although it was quite windy. There were tree surgeons busy at work, not sure whether it was because of fallen trees due to the storm or whether it was part of a winter plan to clear some of the area of old trees. I love the cattle grids, a practical way to allow the cattle to roam safely on common land (well, land owned by the Corporation of London). There's also something satisfying about the noise the grids make when the cars rumble over them....
