The bear in Newburgh

This is the next village along from Abernethy - about 4 miles away but a completely different sort of place, quite a bustling wee town. As you go along the high street, if you look up, you will see a bear holding a staff carved into the hillside. Occasionally they light the outline with lanterns. The carving itself isn't old but there is a history to the image.
