Abingdon Wharf
No work today - but I did pop in for an early meeting (Brownie points earnt?), so decided to go and see what the river was like afterwards. It is very slightly lower than it was 2 days ago, but still very full and fast flowing.
This area is known as the wharf, because it is where the Wiltshire and Berkshire canal used to join the Thames. Not many signs of the canal here now, but the same canal runs through my home village of Shrivenham, but it is rather worse for wear nowadays!
I have always been fascinated by these pollarded trees that line the wharf, not sure if I like them or not, but they make wonderful photos!
