Mediterranean musings

Inside Out

Now that we don't smoke any more, we sometimes take our cafes inside at l'Horizon with the other locals.

You can see Collette taking her morning pastis, while her two sweet little white dogs scamper about.

There is Maurice with his back to the windows, still smoking of course. The law doesn't apply to regulars apparently.

There are other assorted hommes who don't seem to have much else to do, other than argue loudly over sports and politics.

Phillipe, mine host and our near neighbour, is tending his beloved coffee machine, which dispenses the best coffee anywhere. It is 1 euro a shot at the bar or 1.50 euros for table service.

For once, my Samsung phone has enhanced the picture, as in reality L'Horizon is, shall we say, in need of a bit of tlc. A bit like us, that's probably why we like it.
